P>Review My word, does Liora Paniz know how to tell a story and this, believe me, is one SUPERstory. "Page-turner" is - perhaps - not quite the description that one applies tochildrens stories - but it really is applicable in this case. I loved it - as an adult - but, more importantly - so did my (usually rather demanding) audience - little nephews andnieces who were engrossed and spellbound by Miss Lynnies adventures: periods ofenrapt silence punctuated by "oohs" and "aahs"...............lots of them........especiallyat the end of the story which contains a dramatic surprise that left the children loudlyexcited and clamouring for more Miss Lynnie. This is simply a "must buy" book! Why?Liora Paniz is the master of storytelling. This fabulously absorbing saga unfoldsbeautifully on each page; were brought on a journey to a distant and exotic land, all thewhile immersed in magical mystery. This is a story that the reader can step into......thereader can be there with Miss Lynnie and the cast of VERY intriguing characters. Notonly did I relish the story but I loved the occasional educationally historic referenceswhich prompted questions from my curious audience. This is an enriching and clevertale which will not only entertain but educate. Goodness! Miss Lynnie (not forgettingher faithful and very lovable canine companion, Eleanor) is rather like a Bond characterwith special powers -who drives a red convertible! The story begins when a youngschoolgirl, Abby, invites Miss Lynnie The Librarian to her school to talk to the classabout Egypt, which theyre studying. Miss Lynnie proceeds to read from a book whichnarrates the exciting story of the heroic and plucky little Ammon who thwarts tombrobbers attempting to take treasures from the pyramids. It is a fast-paced tale wherethe readers tiptoe and hold their breath in one second and sprint and gasp for air in thenext, just as Ammon does, as he rescues extraordinary artefacts and evades therobbers. Incidentally, the scene in which Miss Lynnie chooses the book from which shereads from the impossibly cavernous trunk of her car is priceless - as is so, so much ofthis escapade. Perhaps the greatest praise of the books emerged when was I wasasked by one of my nieces whether she could write to Miss Lynnie to invite her to herschool in the hope that she would take her and her classmates on the sort ofadventurous experience that truly transports the reader. The overall verdict: MOREMISS LYNNIE, please.............and, soon!!! On a closing note, a very warm and much-deserved warm welcome should be extended to this new author, Liora Paniz, clearly afresh and imaginative talent from whose creativity we hope to benefit in the future!ROBERT M C WEBSTERBarrister / USC Lecturer-in-Law / Author-Editor About the Author: Liora Paniz has known Miss Lynnie the Librarian her entire life!
